Why Cite?
Citation is the system of providing information about the sources you have used in your writing. Citation acknowledges any source that has directly influenced your prose, ideas, or reasoning. This allows readers to track ideas back to their original sources and gives credit to the original author.
You should cite not only what you quote, but also what you paraphrase. Using a person’s work without citing is plagiarism.
