The One Book, Many Schools project is a NALIS libraries initiative which aims to build a community of readers and enhance literacy, amongst school-aged children.
The folklore theme was selected because folklore provides valuable insights into history and cultural values, practices and customs. Learning about the folklore of our ancestors leads to an appreciation of our origins.

What is a Folktale and folklore?
A folktale is a story that has been handed down from person to person, frequently by word of mouth. Folklore is the complete set of traditional beliefs, customs, and stories of a community, bequeathed from one generation to another.
